LISTENING HANDS RETREAT

The art of listening

January 17-19th 2024

What would happen if we slowed down enough to listen with all our being? How would we move our bodies, savour our food, touch the world around us?

This 2-day workshop invites you to slow down, reclaim your intuition and explore the richness of your senses. What if we dared to free ourselves from our visual perception and ‘see’ the world through touch, taste, smell, and sound?

This inquiry forms the heart of this training, challenging us to explore what the world could feel like if we looked less, and listened more.

By shifting the focus from the dominance of sight, and allowing touch to become our anchor, we will discover new ways of listening with all our senses…

The art of listening through touch

Designed for bodyworkers, dancers and all other curious practitioners of movement alike, this immersive experience offers a great introduction onto the principles of Zenthai Shiatsu and an opportunity to see if you would like to dive deeper into this modality. Students will have the opportunity to give and receive quality bodywork cultivating presence, empathy, and self-discovery.

Led by the principles of the 12 threads of Zenthai Shiatsu, this training delves into the intricacies between sinew and tissue, guiding you to pay attention to your intention.

  • Less is more: In the subtlety of touch, we discover the power of simplicity and presence. Each gentle contact carries profound healing potential, reminding us that sometimes, less effort yields greater results.

  • Perfect fit: Like a puzzle piece finding its place, our touch seeks alignment and harmony with the body. Through attentive listening and intuitive connection, we create a space where healing unfolds effortlessly.

  • The more contact the better: In the art of touch, abundance leads to depth. By embracing continuous contact and connection, we amplify the therapeutic effects, nurturing transformation and well-being.

  • Exploring limits: Within the boundaries of comfort lies the threshold of growth. With sensitivity and respect, we gently push these limits, encouraging expansion and discovery on the path to healing.

“One must be aware that when two bodies meet they are together entering an unknown territory. To see this as an everyday experience is to lose the wonder of adventure. If, however, one allows oneself to be led on this journey, we will discover horizons we never imagined existed.”
